I LOVE GRASSHOPPERS!

Just caught a medley of songs and dances by the Grasshoppers (aka Cao Meng) on some fundraising show on TV.  They were good man!  Love their energetic dances.  Ooh… i’m soooo glad i decided not to learn diving this time round to go for their concert instead.

Whoopee!!!!!  I love Grasshoppers!  Muakz muakz muakz!

Found some videos on Youtube!

Actors

Went to this really cosy pub called Actors at the end of Boat Quay during the week.  Bands can go there and jam… and pub patrons gamely take the stage.  Problem i had was the bands don’t always know Chinese songs… and… the silly musicians can be very stubborn – the first band refused to believe that the key in they were playing in was too low for me.  Felt like telling the stupid guy, “Eh, u move away lah.  I play the keyboard myself!”  Pui!

Anyway, decided to learn some English songs so i’ll have a wider song repertoire in future.  Here’s the first song for me… Vonda Shephard’s Baby, Don’t You Break My Heart Slow.

Duet with Emily Saliers
Words by Vonda Shepard
Music by Vonda Shepard & James Newton Howard

I like the way you wanted me
Every night for so long baby
I like the way you needed me
Every time things got rocky

I was believing in you
Was I mistaken
Do you say, do you say what you mean?
I want our love to last forever

But I’d rather you be mean than love and lie
I’d rather hear the truth and have to say goodbye
I’d rather take a blow at least then I would know
But baby don’t you break my heart slow

I like the way you’d hold me
Every night for so long baby
And I like the way you’d say my name
In the middle of the night
While you were sleeping

I was believing in you
Was I mistaken
Do you mean, do you mean what you say?
When you say our love could last forever

(Chorus)
But I’d rather you be mean than love and lie
I’d rather hear the truth and have to say goodbye
I’d rather take a blow at least then I would know
But baby don’t you break my heart slow

(Bridge)
You would run around and lead me on forever
While I wait at home still thinking we’re together
I wanted our love to last forever

I was believing in you
I’d rather you be mean than love and lie
I’d rather hear the truth and have to say goodbye
I’d rather take a blow at least then I would know
But baby don’t you break my heart slow

(Chorus)

An Afternoon in Sengkang

(Strange but the sun in Sengkang seems brighter than in the east of Singapore?)

Spent the afternoon photographing and video recording the filming of a video that will be aired for Seanda’s wedding.  Heh…

Filming of “scolding” scene

Erm, this wasn’t part of the show.. don’t ask me why these people squatted at a dark corner to play cards… old habits die hard?

The “pai kias”

The “confrontation” scene…

And some funny video bloopers…

Dr Jekyll’s “I was passing by only…”

The most jialat scolding…

More scolding…

The garang…

Forgot to add… everything was taken using my N95.  😉

Temptation

Met the Havokers at Wine Connection @ Dempsey Road for drinks after dinner (and balaclava) with Iceman.  Was very happy to see them.  Turnout was good tonight – 11 of us in total.  It’s been almost a year since i’ve seen some of them… so it was pleasant catching up, amidst a lot of “alkaline” jokes.

As YY was celebrating her birthday at Hacienda today, i sms’d Dentine and Flayer about 12am to see if they still at Dempsey area.  Dentine replied saying they were leaving soon… and i didn’t bother to reply.

Got home about 3am and was washing up when my hp beeped.  I thought it was one of the guys checking to see if i got home ok… but it wasn’t.

It was an sms from Flayer.  The message said, “At MOS”.

I replied saying that i just got home.  Flayer replied, asking me to go to MOS.  I declined… but was tempted.  Haha.  Don’t ask me why Flayer still poses some sort of attraction to me.  Heh.

Got ready for bed and was checking my blog comments and emails when a last sms from Flayer came… “How?  Am alone.  Come come.”

Once again, i was tempted… but refused to entertain the effort of changing out of my t-shirt and shorts and going down to MOS at 3:30am.  The memory of the last time we were at MOS alone came to mind.

Decided not to answer Flayer.
