The candidate whom we offered a job rejected us. He’s joining a Jap bank to do credit analysis. I think he’ll regret it but i guess sometimes people need to experience something for themselves before they know what’s suitable for them.
Interviewed another 2 candidates yesterday and 1 of them was terrible! Turned up without a tie, spoke like Ris Low, scored C6 for his A level General Paper and had the cheek to indicate his written and spoken English as “excellent”. Wahlau. I was damn insulted. I always put down my English ability as excellent but that’s backed by my best speaker wins and an A1 grade for GP!
The other candidate was better but nothing about him stood out. He was delusional too – indicated on the application form his Chinese was excellent though he got a C6 for it. What’s with these SMU fresh grads? Do they think the interviewer does not tally what they say with actual results? Testing me ah? Can’t stand it.
I’ve someone in mind now for the vacancy but he’s really the best of the worst. Anyhow, last candidate scheduled for today. Wonder how he’ll turn out. Sigh.
