It’s evil…
Was surfing Youtube this afternoon when i came across this really funny video that Sammi played at her 1999 concert. I love the ending. It was hilarious watching it at the concert. The video was played in several parts at the concert… during Sammi’s costume changes. Contains a lot of the HK celebrities that i like – Sammi (of course), Andy Hui, Louis Koo, and Jessica Hsuen.

P.S. I tried to download them using Firefox’s videodownloader extension but i keep getting an error message. In fact, i’ve not been able to download anything from youtube the psat 2 months or so. Anyone knows the solution?
The concert was excellent. There was also a very touching part when Sammi shared about how her dad had a stroke while on holiday and how her family has a habit of writing letters to each other, etc. Sounds a little disparate when repeated like that but… it was good.

Sigh.. time passes too fast… and too often things lie just beyond our grasp when we decide to reach for them. So thank God for photos that we can at least relive the memory…

If only just the memory.
Patience wasn’t too happy that i didn’t take her to Bali with me. Explained to her it was ‘cos my laptop took up all the space in my haversack and i didn’t want to squeeze her in. (Being flattened wouldn’t be good for her).
Patience said i could’ve packed her into my check-in luggage but i would never do that! I’m always worried that my luggage would get lost somewhere in transit so things that are not replaceable, things that are important to me, always go into my carry-on bag.
And that’s what happened to Upsize on his way to the Bali conference. His luggage got lost in transit… from Manila to Singapore to Bali. Although it was eventually found, the trauma of losing your things (laptop, hp charger, etc) is terrible!
So the moral of the story is? Sometimes it’s better to have a little distance between something that’s precious to you, than to lose it.
Life is a journey. Don’t lose anything in transit.
haven’t been blogging ‘cos i’ve been really really busy. was trying to clear as much work as i could last week before i went for my company’s regional product conference. stayed till abt 3am last Fri? that was the latest i’ve ever stayed in office! went back for another 2-3 hours on Sat too.
the conference in bali was good. excellent in fact. enjoyed myself and it was really good to meet all the people in the region – folks i’ve spoken to regularly over the phone.
am in another conference today (thurs) and tomorrow… will post the few pix i have from the bali trip soon. perhaps over the weekend?
my dad’s in china so there’s the extra responsibility of washing the rabbits’ potty, even when i get home late (like 1:11am tonight).
so do check back soon for more blah blah blahs from me. heh.
Today’s China’s National Day. Heh. As well as a friend’s birthday. Happy celebrating people!! 🙂

Was transferring some of the photos i took recently from my hp to my laptop and decided to post some of the latest things that caught my eye here.
This is the view from a window in my office. It would’ve been clearer if the windows were cleaner! Sigh. Funny thing is, i took this photo on Thursday night when i worked till pretty late… and on Friday, i saw a poster with the same scene, i.e. a pic taken at the same angle! Hehe. What a coincidence!
Was at Din Tai Fung with Booze Queen & Iceman and we saw this other table drinking Chinese wine. We ordered a bottle to try and it was really smooth! Hua Diao Shaoxing Wine (8 years). Really good. Goes extremely well with the Beef Brisket soup from Ding Tai Fung. *Slurp*
Can’t remember what is the official name of this dish from Crystal Jade Macau Kitchen @ Bugis Junction… Spicy Chicken in Stone Pot or something. Really yummy. The gravy goes especially well with white rice!
This was something Prawns on Hot Plate. Had this slight curry flavour to it. Very tasty too!
This was the "weakest link" amongst the dishes. Seasonal Vegetables cooked Portuguese style. Funny sweetish taste. Iceman & i had to put a lot of chilli to help us finish the dish.
Mango Sago Dessert. Classic Crystal Jade dessert. Can’t go wrong with this choice! Yummy. The slightly sourish taste of the mango with the sweet sago soup makes it really refreshing after a heavy meal.
This was the double-boiled Egg White & Milk. Iceman found it bland, tasteless… but i thought the slightly sweetness in the smooth custard was nice.

Watching Lost 3: Expose on Ch 5 now. I am lost! It’s not a show that’s meant for people to just pick up halfway i guess… Sigh. Lots of eye candy though. Hehe.
Azure was in Bangkok for work the past 3 days and she very kindly, braving unknown dangers at the customs and immigration, snuck a bunny back for me. Her ingenuity at disguising and hiding the illegal immigrant bunny is amazing. Check it out man! No wonder those silly folks at immigration couldn’t find it!
Hehe. Hidden amidst 24 Bavarian munchkin donuts from Dunkin’ Donuts, is Mr. Bunny from Mister Donuts. Cute hor? Hahahaha.
Speaking of donuts… after the traumatic incident, where my dad stole my precious donuts, i go on the defensive whenever i have donuts in my house – i separate the donuts into 2 boxes, 1 box for me, and 1 box for my parents.
When i bought donuts back from HK, i labelled my box “Uptowngal’s. Do not eat!!!”. And on my parents’ box, i wrote, “For consumption”.
I then kept the boxes in the fridge. A couple of days later, when i took out my box of donuts, i saw something my dad wrote below my message. It read:
“For looking only”.
My dad can be really funny.
