Dance like no one's watching

I’m on a roll. Talking about old tv shows, there’s this 1990 TVB serial starring Leon Lai & Kathy Chow, called Cherished Moments (回到未嫁时). I simply love that series. I can’t remember the exact storyline, except that it was a sci-fi / futuristic kind of show… i only vaguely remember the story to be that Kathy Chow’s father was a scientist who managed to turn back time, to before Leon Lai & her got married ‘cos he didn’t like Leon… and he tried all sorts of ways to prevent them from getting married.. but they still got together in the end, i think.

Wait wait… more memory is coming back to me… i think the show starts by Leon Lai & Kathy Chow getting into a typical couple’s squabble. Kathy then leaves in a huffy & while roaming the streets, she goes into this arcade and plays this motorbike racing game, and the motorbike mysteriously brings her back to the past. Then somehow, a robot Kathy Chow is placed in the present day to replace the Kathy Chow that went back to the past… and basically the male & female protangonists had to figure out what on earth happened to them…yeah. Something like that.

This was the series that made Leon Lai & Kathy Chow my first tv idols. Their on screen chemistry was so sizzling good that i used to wish so hard that they were a real life couple. Sigh… anyone knows where i can find the VCD / video tapes / DVD or whatever for this series??

Alrighty…i just did a search online and i think i found the summary of the show… but my chinese is really poor… so i don’t think i can translate the summary properly….but i’ll try:

Kathy & Leon are married in 1990 but Leon often neglected Kathy ‘cos of his work. One day, Kathy bumped into her first love and this caused a misunderstanding between Leon & her. A huge quarrel ensued, during which Kathy leaves in a huff. She ends up at an arcade and decides to vent her frustrations by playing some motorbike racing game. She scores full marks & gets transported back to 1986.

In 1986, Kathy was working at some typhoon shelter. She tries desperately to return to 1990 but the arcade where she got transported back in time hadn’t been built so she’s basically stuck in 1986. Then for some reason (which the summary doesn’t really say i think… and i can’t remember this part either), Kathy becomes a hostess in a bar, and loses her memory after losing some necklace. She meets her first love again, ‘cos he set up some museum or something next to the nightclub she’s working in and they are almost fall in love again?? Then somehow, Leon’s mom finds out that his gf was once a bar gal (how did she meet Leon the summary doesn’t say) and so she objects to their relationship, and thus tries to break them up.

That’s all that the summary says. Which makes things more confusing.

Sigh… i give up. Just read it for yourself ok? There’re some character introductions too… that might shed a bit more light on the story…
