Singapore GP Paddock Club

Won a Paddock Club ticket for the Friday practice session.  Marvellous experience – you get to watch the cars in aircon comfort, don’t have to worry you’re going deaf & shout when you want to talk to your friends and the non-stop flow of food & drinks (alcoholic & non-alcoholic) – glorious. The minute Booze […]

Monkey See Monkey Do

It’s quite funny.  To me at least.  I have a habit of writing down the various tasks that I need to do on a post-it and sticking it on my laptop.  As the list of tasks grow, so do the number of post-its. Yesterday, my boss walked over to where M1 sits & said to […]

Facebook

Facebook leaves me conflicted. Sometimes I’m glad it allows me to keep in touch with old friends and acquaintances, sometimes it satisfies my curiosity and busybody-ness about which old friend / schoolmate came out of the closet, and sometimes it reminds me why some friends remain on FB only.

We found out today that a 2nd account of ours is under attack by one of “GRC” that left. This is something that I don’t understand. It’s been 2 months plus since the account was handed over to the new account servicer. Why wasn’t more effort put into the 2 months to build rapport to […]

Assumptions

We always say it’s wrong to make assumptions about people. To judge them by material things or by their appearances, etc. But a person’s choice is influenced by his/ her personality and character. So then is it wrong to make assumptions about people based on the things they buy or the clothes they wear?

Something About Me

Everytime i leave the office, I see guys waiting for their (presumably) wives/ girlfriends in their cars below my office. Makes me wonder If i would enjoy being chauffered around since i detest driving. But after weighing the pros and cons, i’ve concluded that i detest being reliant on someone else for my transport needs […]

Impartiality

I’ve been mulling over this for a while and i now conclude that tough as it may, we should remain impartial at all times. It’s often difficult to be objective when it comes to family. But if we keeping making concessions for their weaknesses, we’re causing them more harm in the long run.

Work Ethics

Some thoughts that have crossed my mind the last 2 weeks: One should be passionate about one’s work. It’s no point being a post box. Discharge your duties responsibility. Have integrity. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.

Loyalty in the Corporate World

The interview on Monday went smoothly and the candidate was more or less satisfactory.  My boss left it to me to decide if I wanted to take him or not.  Spent a good part of yesterday thinking about it.  Finally, I decided that the answer was no.  The problem wasn’t with the candidate but with […]
