Tried this new (I think) restaurant at Wheelock Place last night – Skinny Pizza. The squid ink seafood pizza is really yummy… so yummy that it was gone before I could take a pic.
The “English Breakfast†pizza was so-so… and so I have a pic of it.
We also ordered a 1/2 metre pork sausage.
It was quite tasty despite looking like dog poop on grass. Heh.
Finally, I took this last photo at NYDC.
I thought the Tabasco salt & pepper shakers were rather unusual. 🙂
I decided to put myself out of coffee misery. I never thought the kopi from Coffee & Toast was good… but the ones from the eateries at International Plaza are worse!
To make matters worse, the good coffee machine we used to have at our old office got swopped with a bigger but crappier machine. Argh. It’s coffee hell in Tg Pagar.
Sigh. Decided to end the pain… so I went & purchased a 3-in-1 coffee mix from Arcade today (yeap, went back to Raffles Place for lunch).
Trung Nguyen coffee from Vietnam… it’s one of the best (if not the best) coffee from Vietnam. At $7.50 for 20 sachets, I think it’s worth it!
Ok, this post is belated. Do check out the link below and note the terms and conditions within.

Here’re some screen captures from the above link.
Some netizens speculate that the Nokia X6 will be available from this weekend onwards since the pre-order ends on 18 Dec 2009 (Fri). I sure hope it is! Can’t wait to get my hands on it!
Our living room set finally arrived on Saturday. I admit the blue doors seem a little jarring now… though they are a hark back to our Mediterranean, Greece inspired decor.
Our living room furniture (sorry for the mess.. hehehe… Iceman was in the middle of drilling & installing our speakers and I was sweeping the floor when I suddenly decided to take a picture).
Another pic with the dining room set in the background. My mom says our dining room table is a little small… but I said 2 people only.. never mind lah… moreover, we have a bigger dining table in the kitchen.
The balcony with the blinds installed. The wind chime was left behind by the previous owner.
The sleeping section of the master bedroom. Haven’t wash our bedsheets yet… hehe… so it’s a “naked†bed. The brown curtains just went up on Sat.
This is the dressing area of the bedroom… our wardrobes and my dresser are only coming in late Jan / early Feb 2010. The above is a pic of our study table.
Some pictures of our kitchen… yesh, it’s messy messy.
That’s about it. The flat will be hosting its first guests on 26 Dec. Hope we get everything in order by then!
This is Pinky’s latest favourite hangout.
It’s this longish box that my dad used bricks to prop up against the wall so it looks like a tunnel to the bunnies. My dad told me that Coffee loves to crawl through it even morning – part of his daily exercise routine. Horlicks likes to run on top of the box… and Pinky… the lazy bunny just snoozes in it all day…
I think East Coast Town Council sucks. Not sure if anyone else ever had bad experience with them but it seems the $60 I pay every month only gets me lip service from them.
About 3 weeks ago, I reported to them that there was ponding on the window ledge outside my spare bedroom. The problem must’ve gone on for a while cos there was this huge weed/plant growing on the ledge. The root of the plant stretched across half the length of the ledge, causing cracks in the wall, which resulted in water seepage into my bedroom. I spoke to a Mr Mistri who assured me that this could be fixed from the outside of the flat.
Two weeks went by and nothing was done. The water seepage spread from half the wall to the entire length of the wall, following the growth of the root.
I called the town council again and chased Mistri about the repairs. I asked him who was going to compensate me if I needed to get repairs done to my wall! Mistri told me to send in an e-mail if I wanted to pursue the matter.
Not wanting to come down to hard on them, I sent an e-mail to ensure my complaint was lodged in black and white, and raised the possibility of pursuing the matter, though I didn’t ask for compensation yet.
Mistri replied my e-mail and assured me that the repairs will be completed by 12 Dec. Iceman and I happened to be at the flat that day and nothing was done! To make things worse, the water seepage worsened and the plaster was flaking off the wall.
I was furious. I called the East Coast Town Council again and gave them a lashing. Unfortunately, the call was redirected to EMS, the emergency services people, so they suffered the brunt of my anger.
The folks at EMS were good. They called up the contractors and got them to visit the site immediately. They also arranged for repairs to commence on 14 Dec (today). EMS also wrote a report to inform the town council about my complaint.
In addition to their report, I sent a harshly worded e-mail to Mistri and attached a photo of my flaking wall cos I haven’t decided if I should claim damages from the town council – it depends on how bad the final damage is, and if I need to get professional repairs for it.
This morning, I received a call from Mistri. He said he received my e-mail and spoke to the contractor, who advised him that repair works will be carried out today. I told him I’m aware cos EMS arranged for it and they told me about it. I said that they were “responsible in doing their work, unlike his department”. I was pissed off cos he sounded like he wanted to take credit for what someone else did to rectify his negligence and inefficiency!
Anyway, the bloody plant better be gone and the cracks sealed by today. Else, somebody’s gonna get it!

Saw the Nokia X6 dummy set last Sat. The screen’s a little narrow in my opinion. I would’ve preferred a length to breadth ratio like the iphone ‘cos I think it makes it easier to read articles online.
That said, after seeing several X6 videos online, I’m quite happy with how the contacts look (I like how you can see the recent history with a contact and even the contact’s facebook updates, etc), and I really would want a phone that allows me to customise different profile settings (I always take the effort to set different ringtones for my contact groups – family, colleagues, buddies, etc). When I’m on leave, my customised “Privacy†profile always comes in handy – my Nokia only rings when selected people call me. Heehee. This is extremely important for sleeping late on days I’m on leave.
Anyway, I’m going to take another look at the dummy set tomorrow… and quite possibly sign up for the pre-order too.
BTW, for anyone who’s thinking of signing up for Singtel’s football promo, the $25 promo for football, starsports & I can’t remember what other channels ends on 30 Jan 2010. Better sign up quick!
