Celebrated my birthday at Viva Mexico with Azure, BQ and Iceman. Here’re the pics!
Started off with yummy nachos… I think Viva Mexico gives this free…
Natural Lime Margarita
Guacamole dip (I think)
Sizzling chicken and beef fajita
Quesadillas!
Booze Queen & Azure!
Some fish dish…
The table full of food!
Mango margarita
Yup… it’s the big 3-O.

The panasonic FX33 doesn’t do very well in very dim lighting… I think BQ’s camera prob. had better pics!
Wasn’t much of a birthday weekend since I only celebrated my birthday with 2 close gal pals and Iceman. Main focus of this weekend was going for NTU Buddy’s wedding dinner and selecting photos from French Bridal to go into the wedding album. I initially thought I might choose an additional 15 pics but Iceman and I were conservative in our selection so only 10 additional pics were chosen. Not that it came cheap… the 10 photos cost us an additional $700.
Was looking through my cousin’s wedding album on Facebook and I noted a distinct difference in Iceman and my selection with… probably what I’ve seen in other people’s wedding albums so far. Iceman and I didn’t choose any duplicated backdrops in our photos. For e.g. if we had a series of photos taken with a swing, we would choose the nicest pic with the swing, and then move on to the next shot. I sure hope I won’t regret this but when we were choosing the pics, I strongly felt that it would make the album more interesting if there was something different with each pic – be it a different gown, or different venue, or different prop (e.g. chair / bouquet / bunnies – ah yes. One of the selected shots had Patience & MC in it).
Iceman also pointed out that the comedic/impromptu shots taken by Azure could be included in our photo montage and I’m quite likely to go for this. Hehe… my ah lian pose, sticking tongue out pose, slipper pose and the the arty farty “blurred bouquet†pic. Heh.
Anyway, time to sleep. It’s going to be a busy week ahead with a tender proposal due on 22 May. Bleah. Wedding prep can be fun, albeit tiring!
Boohoo!
Clearing pics from the digicam, I found these…
MC finds it necessary to be suitably clothed
New slippers bought from Esprit. I’m absolutely delighted with them! This is the first pair of slippers in my life (as far as I can recall) that doesn’t fall of when I lift my feet off the ground! I love the colours too!

MC disturbing Iceman. Hehe.
If you haven’t learnt by now, I’m obsessive compulsive by nature. Although I did the last nail art stickers only last Fri, I wasn’t pleased that the top coat was applied too thickly and unevenly on some nails. So when I bought more stickers today for my cousin’s wedding, I decided to use one set today. Here’s the results… 🙂
I’m pleased… but now I’m short of 1 set of stickers again. Heh.
LONDON (AFP) – – British retailer Marks & Spencer admitted Friday it had "boobed" in a row over larger-size bras, agreeing to cut prices for DD-plus cup versions to bring them in line with smaller models.

The climbdown, which came after more than 13,000 people signed an online protest, was welcomed by the 26-year-old woman who launched the campaign on social networking website Facebook.
"I’m absolutely delighted on behalf of all of the women in the group," said Beckie Williams, who wears a 30G bra herself. "We have had 13,500 people join us to support us in this cause, so it’s absolutely fantastic," she told GMTV.
Her group, Busts 4 Justice, condemned M & S’s two-pound (2.2-euro, 3.0-dollar) surcharge on bras bigger than a DD cup, as "criminally unfair" and urged "busty ladies" to "join forces to end this blatant discrimination".
Williams even bought a share worth 3.40 pounds in Marks and Spencer so she could raise her concerns at the firm’s annual general meeting in July.
Announcing its climbdown, the retailer took out full-page ads in national newspapers Friday, with the headline "We Boobed" over a picture of a woman sporting a larger-sized bra.
A spokesperson said: "We’ve heard what our customers are telling us that they are unhappy with the pricing on our DD-plus bras and that basically we’ve boobed.
From Saturday the store’s bra prices will all be the same, regardless of size, he said, adding: "They’ll still be made to the same high standards so you get the best support on the high street."
The retailer previously insisted its bras were priced fairly to include the cost of wider straps and better support, and said customers "have told us they are happy to pay a small premium… for the specialist work".
I’m glad Marks & Spencer has decided to review it’s pricing policy. After all, if obese people don’t need to pay more for clothes, I don’t see why busty people should pay more for bras!
Still inspired by DIY nail art, I bought some 3D stickers to try at home (first time I’m trying stickers!). Iceman thinks they give more of a neck ache than anything haha.
Wonder if I should’ve used this design for the indoor photoshoot…but I guess this would be a more common design for brides.
Looks not too bad with French too hor?
I kind of regret using the almost nude matt tone as base colour… should’ve used a gloss finish. Oh well, I have 3 weddings to attend this month… I think I can just use my normal mani/pedi package and do my own nail art. Heehee.
Here’s a joke to add cheer to a dreary Friday.
Bigmac interviewed a candidate for our political risk and structured trade vacancy this morning. The candidate is definitely very strong academically (2nd upper honours in Actuarial Science) but unfortunately not very savvy otherwise. Here’s an excerpt of the conversation that convinced Bigmac not to hire him…
Bigmac: So you’re keen on political risk. Have you heard of Hugo Chavez?
Candidate: Yes. That’s a perfume right?
Bigmac assures me that I will not want him working with me. HAHAHAHAHA.
Blame it on my OCD nature but once I decided to touch up the photos, I couldn’t stop till I got them right (or at least as “right†as I could). So this is the 3rd time I’m reposting the photos. Realised I used too many “dark edges†effect in version 2 of this post.. so I redid all the photos. This time, I also correct the contrast, lighting, colour and saturation of the pics, and rendered some lighting effect where I thought might be nice. Of course, there was the usual cropping to remove the actual photographer’s arm/bag/flash, pillars, etc.
L: Getting ready
R: Azure testing the borrowed DSLR
L: Iceman looks like he’s enjoying himself.
Behind the scenes
L: Doing funny faces while Iceman discusses serious stuff with the photographer.

Testing a black & white pic…
R: Horsing around

R: Chatting between shots

L: Being cheeky while Iceman stares… at the time?

L: Killing ants… the owner of the beetle should thank me.

L: My trusty slippers! Wouldn’t have survived the day w/o them

L: Hot… humid…

L: Am v.proud of this photo ‘cos the colour was originally kinda bluish/greyish but I managed to correct it. Yes, yes, no big deal for some but a big deal for my 3rd photoshop attempt.

L: The ah lian pose is actually quite relaxing

L: Our “kelong equivalent†location
R: Sigh. My upper arm is too fat for my lower arm. 🙁
