Dance like no one's watching

I seldom paint my own nails ‘cos I’m just bad at art work of any level and any sort.  Am however, quite pleased with my effort tonight – clear coat of polish, sparkle over the top half of the nail, followed by silver glitter on the tips.  Good enough for me.  Yay!  🙂

Love this new look… except it shows excerpts for each post instead of the whole post.  No photos too.  Sigh.

Anyone watched S Factor on Ch 5 last night?  Gosh.  It was bad… the girls were ugly (almost all of them), had bad body shapes and were generally short and flat.  Kinda sad.  But then again, if they were really good, they wouldn’t need to strip almost bare to command attention.  After all, models make clothes they wear grab attention… not take off their clothes to grab attention.

I suppose the only redeeming factor about the show is that it’s hilarious in a slapstick way.  Wanna see people stumble over tough mathematical questions like 1 x 1 or 2 x 3?  Watch S Factor.  Wanna see girls whine over chipped nails and ruined nail art?  Watch S Factor.  Wanna see blank faces when posed questions about current affairs?  Watch S Factor.

Finally got a keyboard at work so I don’t have to type using the laptop keyboard.  Love the shortcuts buttons on the top.

This keyboard is also quite idiot proof… would be really useful for people who are not familiar with shortcuts (see the green letters telling you all the shortcuts?).  Hehe.

Booze Queen got her friend to buy this preserved Yuzi snack from Japan.  It’s really yummy… and it leaves the tongue feeling a little numbish.

My latest pair of slippers.  From M)phosis.  They’re quite comfy and I love the way they look… except I still can’t walk very fast in them.  There’s a mild threat of them flying off my feet…

My cousin posed me this question earlier.  Her wedding invitation card says:

“On this joyous occasion, our parents, ___ & ___, togther with <groom’s name> & <bride’s name> invite ______”

Her question was, when it comes to cards for our relatives, should she name them as “Mr and Mrs S”, or “Uncle A and Aunty B”?

My first thought was the same as hers, that it is probably be more common/formal to address our relatives as “Mr and Mrs”…. and that is what she did.  This however, bugs me terribly ‘cos this would mean that I will be using my much hated term, “Mrs”.  After chatting with my cousin, I concluded I shall use “Uncle A and Aunty B” ‘cos that gets rid of having to use the term “Mrs”, and saves me the trouble of finding out every aunt/uncle’s surname (with regard to the ones whom I’m related to by marriage and not by blood).

There’s another stereotype that bugs me, and that’s how people tend to assume that the car belongs to the guy.  Now, is a girl not capable enough of driving herself around?  Or does it mean just because the car is used by a couple, the guy will naturally have more say over it? 

I really HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE these stereotypes to the core.  Or just like how some people (usually the older  folks) comment that one is “fortunate” to have a son.  Like WTF man.  I kid you not.  The next time I hear that, I will say to the person, “Your mother not female ah?  If only sons are important, that you ought to go kill yourself ‘cos you would not have existed if not for a female”.

Grr… hate all these gender biasness.  HATE HATE HATE!

Based on my repeated receipt of such poor grammar, I am able to deduce that the sender means that she will check on the issue raised in my e-mail to her and reply as soon as she can.

If you examine what she wrote however, I would really like to know how does one “look into the same” and the revert (meaning “change back to the previous state”) as soon as possible.  This amazing feat totally baffles me.

When I was leaving office on Fri, I saw that Bouncy was inside Upsize’s room again.  Kid’s Meal commented, “What’s she doing inside?”.  I said, “Don’t you know?  Every year this time, she’ll always go inside Upsize’s room to ‘chit chat'”.

Sometimes, I think the issue nowadays is no longer about equality between the sexes.  The main problem women in modern society face is addressing inequality within the gender.  How many of you females who carry yourself with pride and dignity find that many a time, your position is compromised by a female who pretends to be vulnerable and fragile? 

Bonus/increment/promotions will be announced in 1 month’s time.  Let’s see what Bouncy has up her sleeves this time.  I wonder if she’s gunning for another promotion.  After all, when she didn’t get promoted the last round, she went into Upsize’s room to “chit chat” everyday till she got it.  (She managed to wrangle a promotion even AFTER the promotion list came out).

I suppose that’s life.  But to sink to that level to achieve something, is beyond me.
